If you require a single mount card I will need you to measure your artwork as follows:
- Decide the window size, which will show your picture. A x B Remember that the mount card must overlap the artwork by 5mm all round.
- We recommend a 50mm margin at the top and sides with 60mm at the bottom. The wider bottom margin is standard practise to prevent your picture looking top heavy.
- Your completed picture frame size will be B+C+E by A+D+D. However, for pricing purposes, once these figures are entered, our calculator gives the final cost including mount card and is ready to hang.
- If you require a double mount card of the same or complimentary colour, please follow the instructions for a single mount card, but now decide how much of the inner mount card you would like showing. We recommend 5mm.
- To compliment your picture, as a rule, the outer or uppermost mount is a lighter colour than the inner one.
